Well, I'm Chris and I am a recovering addict…. ooops, there goes my anonymity. Anyways, Clean Apparel is a clothing brand that just sort of came about organically within my recovery from active addiction.
Prior to getting clean I was homeless, unemployable, in and out of jail, and flat out miserable. Utterly hopeless is how I felt. Thankfully, I became ready to reach out to others and do what ever it took to stay clean and live a happy lifestyle. Through that process a seed of hope was sprouted, and I started to dream.
A buddy of mine had a logo he designed that I really felt had an impactful message. Being a screen printer, I just HAD to put it on a piece of clothing. Not long after, others were asking for gear of their own, so I started placing orders to fulfill my fellows wishes. As merchandise went out, I started noticing the ripple effect that these optimistic articles of attire were making. It motivated me to keep it going and have some fun with it. People became proud of their triumph over adversity and wore it! Not only that but it showed and continues to show others that they can do it too. Ultimately, Clean Apparel is a clothing brand that promotes hope and encourages others to be proud of their successes and achievements.
It's more than clothing - it's community.
